COE issues Green Alert for six provinces due to tropical wave

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has issued a green alert for six provinces due to the approach of an active tropical wave east of Puerto Rico and an upper-level trough. This weather system is expected to bring clouds, showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds to parts of the northeast, southeast, and Central Mountain Range.

The provinces under green alert are: Duarte, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Samana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, and La Altagracia.

Residents are advised to avoid crossing rivers, streams, and ravines with high water levels in the affected areas. Additionally, operators of small and medium-sized vessels along the Caribbean coast, as well as first responders, should adhere to the restrictions outlined in the marine report from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) issued today.
