Puerto Rico sends rescue team to support Dominican Republic after Jet Set nightclub tragedy

Santo Domingo.- In a heartfelt act of solidarity and regional brotherhood, Puerto Rico Governor Jenniffer González Colón has deployed a specialized rescue team to Santo Domingo in response to the tragic collapse of the Jet Set nightclub roof, which has claimed dozens of lives and left many injured. The contingent includes three officers and nine firefighters from the Puerto Rico Fire Department, along with technical experts from the Institute of Forensic Sciences to assist in victim identification and emergency response.
Governor González Colón expressed her heartfelt condolences in an official statement, offering prayers and solidarity to the Dominican people. “We honor the memory of those lost and reaffirm our commitment to help during this painful time,” she said. Fire Department Commissioner Josué Piñeiro Torres and Secretary of State Verónica Ferraiuoli were present at the airport to see the team off.
Personnel from Mexico and Israel have also joined the rescue and search efforts for victims still trapped under the rubble of the Jet Set nightclub.
