Dominican Republic to host 22nd Ibero-American Judicial Summit

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Judiciary, serving as the Pro Tempore Secretariat, is hosting the 22nd Ibero-American Judicial Summit from May 14–16, 2025, in Santo Domingo. The event, held under the theme “Justice Up to Date to Guarantee the Dignity of People,” will bring together high-level representatives from 23 Ibero-American countries, including President Luis Abinader and Chief Justice Henry Molina.

The summit will open at the National Theater, featuring remarks from national and international figures, including Minister Elena Martínez Rosso of Uruguay and Ibero-American Secretary General Andrés Allamand. Attendees include presidents of supreme courts, judges, legal professionals, academics, and civil society actors.

During the General Assembly, participants will elect the next Pro Tempore and Permanent Secretariats (2025–2027, 2025–2029) and sign the Santo Domingo Declaration on justice, liberty, equality, and solidarity.

Recognition will be given to Honorary Judge Jorge Subero Isa and awards will be presented for gender-sensitive rulings and best legal practices in Ibero-America.
