Raquel Peña reaffirms strong ties with European Union
Santo Domingo.- Vice President Raquel Peña reaffirmed the Dominican Republic’s strong and meaningful partnership with the European Union (EU), describing it as coherent, humane, and rooted in shared history and democratic values. Speaking during a discussion with EU ambassadors, Peña emphasized the joint commitment to the rule of law, human rights, gender equality, and multilateral cooperation.
She stated that these shared principles serve as a guiding framework for future collaboration, aiming to produce tangible and transformative outcomes for both sides.
Peña also highlighted successful joint efforts in areas such as economic relations, security and defense, academic exchange, cultural preservation, and environmental initiatives like ocean and waterway cleanup—all of which have positively impacted the well-being of Dominican citizens.
