Arajet marks third anniversary with expansion plans
Santo Domingo.- Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s flagship low-cost airline, celebrated its third anniversary by reaffirming its mission to transform the country into the leading aviation hub of the Americas. CEO and founder Víctor Pacheco Méndez announced that 2025 will close with more than 1.5 million passengers, including 200,000 connecting travelers, as the airline strengthens links between North, Central, and South America with the Caribbean.
The airline’s growth milestones include the arrival of its 12th aircraft, “La Caleta,” with a 13th set to join the fleet before year’s end and six more arriving in 2026, bringing the total to 19 aircraft. Arajet has rapidly expanded operations in markets such as Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Argentina, and will soon add new U.S. routes to Orlando, Chicago, and Boston, as well as flights to Córdoba, Argentina.
Pacheco highlighted Arajet’s role in boosting tourism and the aviation industry, while creating over 700 jobs, with more than half of leadership positions held by women. The airline continues to invest in pilot training and community initiatives, positioning Santo Domingo and Punta Cana as regional aviation platforms that connect business, tourism, and families across the hemisphere.
