Public employees to end workday at noon this Friday due to heavy rains

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) announced that public employees’ workday will end at 12:00 pm this Friday due to heavy rains and alerts issued by the Emergency Operations Center (COE). The measure applies to state institutions in Santo Domingo, the National District, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, and Azua to ensure staff safety.

The COE has placed five provinces under red alert—Santo Domingo, the National District, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, and Azua—while nine provinces are on yellow alert, including María Trinidad Sánchez, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, San Juan, Monte Plata, La Altagracia, La Romana, Samaná, and Hato Mayor. Barahona, Peravia, Puerto Plata, Pedernales, and Sánchez Ramírez remain on green alert.
