U.S. Ambassador Leah Campos presents credentials to Dominican Foreign Minister
Santo Domingo.- Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez formally received the copies of credentials from the newly appointed U.S. ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Leah Francis Campos, during a ceremony held this Wednesday. The meeting included discussions on key issues of mutual interest between the two nations.
Before her appointment, Campos served as a senior strategic advisor at SAS Institute in Arlington, Virginia, and previously held positions in the U.S. House of Representatives, including senior advisor to the Chamber of Deputies and director of personnel for the Subcommittee on Hemispheric Affairs. She also worked as a case officer at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 1997 to 2012.
Following this initial diplomatic formality, Ambassador Campos will soon present her Letters of Credence to President Luis Abinader, officially marking the start of her mission as the United States’ representative to the Dominican Republic.
