Sosua — Among the 174 people rescued from the sexual exploitation network last weekend in Sosúa, Puerto Plata, there were ” seven minors, male and female,” reported the National Council for Children and Infancy ( Conani ), an organization that was part of the team made up of police and prosecutors who participated in 29 raids in that municipality.

First Lady Raquel Arbaje, president of the Cabinet of Children and Adolescents, described the abuse and exploitation of childhood innocence as “deplorable” and advocated for severe punishment for this crime.

The minors are under the protection of Conani, reported its executive president, Ligia Pérez.

The first lady and the president of CONANI spoke this Monday during the presentation of the Child-Friendly Justice Guide for Children and Adolescents, aimed at helping judges identify specific barriers that may affect minors’ ability to exercise their right to justice effectively.

Yesterday, the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced the launch of Operation Atlantic as part of its actions against pimpingcommercial sexual exploitation, and illicit trafficking of migrants. These actions include the establishment of a special prosecutor’s office in Sosúa.

In its press release, the prosecuting agency said that 174 women were rescued, “including six minors , and 22 men , weapons and other evidence of the crimes under investigation.”

The operation, carried out by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office against Human Trafficking and the Smuggling of Migrants, in collaboration with the Puerto Plata Prosecutor’s Office, and with the support of the General Prosecution Directorate, involved 35 prosecutors and more than 500 officers from various state agencies.

The 29 raids were carried out in 12 boarding houses, which had more than 250 rooms. In addition, 17 liquor stores were raided.

The president of Conani (National Commission for the Protection of Children and Adolescents ) assured that they are following up on the case of the three children found in inhumane conditions in the San Carlos sector, and are therefore in the process of protecting these minors.

Many foreigners who live in the north cost are there to exploit minors. Haitians bring children to DR to force them to beg or to abuse them. It’s time to ban the them, and ban the low income, EBT ghetto blakistanians that come to DR for prostitution. BAN THEM ALL #TRUJILLO2028

And the Haitian gangbangers you see on the street, the ones with the dreads and tats, they’re not interested in exploiting anyone for sex. Especially the ones here for a little time off from turf-fighting, extortion, and kidnapping….
