New INFOTEP Training Center opens in Puerto Plata Free Zone

Puerto Plata.- The Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, representing President Luis Abinader, inaugurated a modern INFOTEP Training Center in the Puerto Plata Industrial Free Zone, aimed at boosting technical education, employment, and business competitiveness in the northern region.

Built in partnership with the Free Trade Zone Corporation, the center includes textile workshops, computer labs, and classrooms. It will offer programs in textile manufacturing, industrial production, IT, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, and administrative services, complementing existing training in gastronomy, electricity, and refrigeration.

This is INFOTEP’s third center in Puerto Plata, joining facilities in the former Montemar Hotel and in Imbert. Additional centers are planned for Villa Montellano and Punta Bergantín. Since 2020, INFOTEP has trained more than 154,000 people on the North Coast, with a balanced participation of men and women.
