Salsa singer Yiyo Sarante reportedly arrested over alleged illegal power connection

Santo Domingo.- Dominican salsa artist Yiyo Sarante was reportedly arrested this Monday following an operation by the Deputy Attorney General’s Office for the Electric System (Pgase), which detected an alleged illegal electricity connection at a property in San Antonio de Guerra.

Authorities claim the unauthorized hookup was linked to the Dominican Electricity Distribution Company of the East (Edeeste). Reports also suggest that Sarante was taken into custody and referred to the Attorney General’s Office due to alleged aggressive behavior during the inspection.

As of now, further details remain unclear, and a formal statement from the singer’s representatives is expected.
