Ambassador Edward Pérez Reyes presents credentials to Emperor of Japan

Tokyo, Japan.- In a formal ceremony at Tokyo’s Imperial Palace, Ambassador Edward Pérez Reyes officially presented his credentials to His Majesty Emperor Naruhito, becoming the Dominican Republic’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan. This ceremony marks the beginning of his diplomatic mission and reflects the Dominican government’s commitment to deepening its long-standing relationship with Japan.

Emperor Naruhito conveyed warm wishes to the Dominican government and people, expressing optimism that this new diplomatic phase will further strengthen the two nations’ shared values of peace, respect, and cooperation. Ambassador Pérez Reyes, in turn, delivered greetings from President Luis Abinader and reaffirmed the Dominican Republic’s dedication to advancing a forward-looking agenda of cooperation in areas such as technology, education, energy, climate change, and food security.
