Fernández and Morales Jr. win AMCHAMDR Northern Regional Golf Tournament

Puerto Plata.- Guillermo Fernández and Georgie Morales Jr. claimed top honors in Category A Gross at the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR) Northern Regional Golf Tournament, held August 9 at the Playa Dorada Golf Course in Puerto Plata. The event began with a formal opening ceremony, including remarks from AMCHAMDR leaders, followed by the honorary tee-off. Players competed in pairs under the scramble format, fostering both camaraderie and competitive spirit.

The tournament crowned winners across three categories. In Category A, Américo and Amec Núñez secured first place net, while Andrés Marranzini and Yoshiro Iguchi took second. Category B Gross went to Simón Fernández and William Núñez, with Eduardo Molina and Noé Pérez winning first place net. In Category C, Nelson and Nicole Rosario won the Gross division. Special awards included the longest drive to Guillermo Fernández (367 yards) and closest to the pin to William Núñez (9 feet).

Founded in 2004 to celebrate the Santiago office’s 25th anniversary, the tournament serves as both a sporting and networking platform. This year’s edition featured sponsorship from major corporations such as Citi, Grupo Rica, Barrick Pueblo Viejo, and AES Dominicana. The host course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., offered scenic ocean views, challenging fairways, and greens suited for players of all levels.
