President Abinader receives Miss Universe 2024 and Miss Dominican Republic at the National Palace
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Peña welcomed Miss Universe 2024, María Victoria Kjær, and Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2025, Jennifer Ventura, during a courtesy visit on Tuesday at the National Palace. The meeting, held in the private room of the Government House, highlighted the cordiality and recognition of both queens’ international and national representation.
Also present were Magali Febles, director of the Miss Universe Dominican Republic franchise; businessman George Nader; and María José Undxa. Officials emphasized that the presence of Kjær and Ventura underscores the projection of talent and cultural diplomacy on an international stage.
María Victoria Kjær, a Danish model, dancer, entrepreneur, and aspiring lawyer, made history as the first woman from Denmark to win Miss Universe. Meanwhile, Jennifer Ventura, representing Barahona, was recently crowned Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2025 and will carry the country’s banner at the next edition of the pageant.
