Tourism Minister Collado covers his own travel expenses
Santo Domingo.- Tourism Minister David Collado stated that throughout his public career—as congressman, mayor, and minister—he has personally covered all expenses for his official trips abroad, including hotels and travel. Speaking in a television interview, Collado emphasized that he has never used state funds for his international travels, which are aimed at promoting the Dominican Republic as a tourist destination.
Collado highlighted that over the past four years, he has conducted 98 roadshows, helping secure strategic agreements such as “Open Skies” to improve air connectivity and attracting major hotel investments, including Four Seasons, Rosewood, and Ritz-Carlton. He stressed that his actions are motivated by dedication and love for the country, rejecting claims of opportunism, and reaffirmed his focus on consolidating the Dominican Republic as a leading tourism destination in the region.

Clearly running for President in 2028. We would have no way of proving if this is true.
Who can afford to pay for 98 roadshows on a govt. salary?
