Dominican Consul General participates in Tarragona’s annual “Trobada Consular”

Barcelona, Spain.- The Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Barcelona, Antonio José Gómez Peña, took part in the annual “Trobada Consular” organized by the City Council of Tarragona, Spain, as part of the 25th-anniversary celebration of Tarragona’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The event, held in the Plenary Hall of City Hall, included the presence of Mayor Rubén Viñuales Elías, Government Delegate in Catalonia Carlos Prieto, and Minister of the European Union and External Action Jaume Duch, who highlighted the role of local diplomacy in fostering cultural connections and international cooperation.

Consular representatives engaged in cultural activities such as a visit to the 2nd-century AD Tarraco model, a guided tour of the Roman archaeological site, and a historical reenactment with ancient Tarraco-inspired cuisine.
