AES Dominicana President Edwin De los Santos elected head of AACCLA

Washington.- Edwin De los Santos, president of AES Dominicana, was elected president of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA) during its general assembly held on October 22 in Washington, D.C. His election highlights the growing influence of the Dominican business community and recognizes the Dominican Republic as one of the most reliable and dynamic investment destinations in the region.

De los Santos previously led the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR) and has been an active AACCLA member for years, most recently serving as vice president before assuming this new role. He encouraged regional entrepreneurs to participate in the upcoming 10th Summit of the Americas, which will take place in December in Punta Cana. The event will gather heads of state, government officials, and business leaders from across the hemisphere to discuss strategies for regional cooperation, investment, and economic growth.

De los Santos emphasized that his election represents not just a personal achievement but also a reflection of international confidence in the Dominican Republic’s business environment. He reaffirmed AACCLA’s commitment to promoting responsible investment, trade integration, and policies that enhance cooperation in key sectors such as energy, innovation, health, and education. With his leadership, the Dominican Republic strengthens its position as an influential voice in shaping a more competitive and integrated regional economy.
