Abinader appoints Alfonso Rodríguez Tejada as new ETED Administrator
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader appointed Alfonso Rodríguez Tejada as the new general administrator of the Dominican Electricity Transmission Company (ETED) through Decree 653-25, reinforcing the technical leadership of the national electricity sector. The designation aims to strengthen ETED’s management amid ongoing efforts to improve the country’s energy infrastructure.
Rodríguez Tejada is an electrical engineer trained at Unapec, with additional studies in law, an MBA, and a master’s degree in Caterpillar Mechanics from the Institute of the Americas in Miami. He also holds ISO 9001, ISO 50001, and ISO 14001 auditor certifications, enhancing his technical and managerial credentials.
His career spans roles in both the private and public sectors, including positions at Implementos y Maquinarias CxA, the León Jiménez Group, Green Future Renewable Energy in Spain, and Cobra Energía. In government, he has served as Vice Minister of Energy Saving and Efficiency, Vice Minister of Nuclear Energy, and most recently, Vice Minister of Electric Power. The decree has been forwarded to the appropriate institutions for implementation.
