American’s Dominican Republic offensive: 25 flights per day next winter
American Airlines will increase its flights to the Dominican Republic for the winter vacation season this 2023, including Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, and Santiago airports, operating up to 25 daily flights to the country during the peak of the season.
Beginning in early December, American will expand service to Punta Cana from Miami, Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth, and New York, increasing to more than 85 weekly flights to the Caribbean.
In addition, beginning December 5, the airline will increase service from Charlotte to Puerto Plata from weekly to daily and to Punta Cana from three to four daily flights. American plans to increase service from Miami to Puerto Plata and Santiago from one daily service to two daily flights.
With the additional frequencies, America will operate more than 150 weekly flights in the Dominican Republic and increase its capacity in the country by more than 30% in the 2023-2024 vacation season compared to the same period in 2022-2023.
“American has a 47-year commitment serving the Dominican Republic and we are excited to offer our customers a robust winter schedule as we continue to open the country’s doors to travelers from around the world,” said Jose Maria Giraldo, managing director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
