Santo Domingo.- Renowned journalist and writer José Rafael Sosa received the National Digital Journalism Award, in recognition of his fruitful work and for the support and encouragement given to young journalists.
The award is presented by the Dominican Digital Media Observatory with the support of Banco Popular and the Punta Cana-Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM).
In his words of thanks, Sosa highlighted his relationship with Acento.com.do, where he is one of the most productive and active contributors to issues of culture, cinema, theater, health and cooperativism.
“I would especially like to thank digital newspaper Acento, which has been for me a school of advanced and multifaceted digital journalism, as it has become an unprecedented example of inclusive communication, non-discriminatory, advanced in its journalistic sense, and varied in its media offerings,” he said.
After remarkable work in printed newspapers and magazines and television, as a producer and scriptwriter, Sosa was one of the first to venture into the dissemination of content through blogs and digital pages.
At the same time, he continues as a contributor to several media, among which Acento.com.do stands out. The news outlet published Sosa’s words of thanks.
Good evening:
I am not with you because I was admitted seven days ago in Plaza de la Salud with the hope of soon overcoming two conditions that I hope will be resolved with the will of God and the experience of the medical staff that assists me.
I wish to thank you for this distinction that honors me and that I did not expect. When I have contributed to the growth of the quality of the content, it has been an effort validated by the attitude of editors and media journalists who have responded to our request to strengthen our offer to educate, guide and entertain our visitors in the best way.
Many of those who hear these words, have received my letters asking them to open up to art, history, tourism, literature, plastic arts, placing them next to other popular contents. I thank them for having accepted.
I would especially like to thank the digital newspaper Acento, which has been for me a school of advanced and multivalent digital journalism, as it has become an unprecedented example of inclusive communication, non-discriminatory, advanced in its journalistic sense, varied in its media offer, and to extend this gratitude to the 109 media that daily receive our contents and share them. To all of them, thank you.
To the Digital Media Observatory, our eternal gratitude and the reiteration of our confidence in its members. Congratulations to those who have won the Award tonight.
Thank you.
