Explosive Dominican rookie named MLB Player of the Week

Santo Domingo.- Major League Baseball on Monday named rookie Dominican slugger, Vladimir Guerrero Jr, as the Player of the Week in the American League, MLB.com reports.

Guerrero, 20, hit .500 / .536 / .962 with three homers, three doubles and 11 RBIs in six games between Monday and Sunday. That included a two-homer game on Thursday in Baltimore, when he also hit a double as part of a 4-RBI day.

Guerrero is the son of Baseball Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero.
