Opposition party loss prompts a call for its president’s head

Santo Domingo.- A group of rank and file of the opposition PRD party arrived at its campaign located in the Naco sector near daybreak Monday morning, chanting for the head of the organization’s president Miguel Vargas, in the heels of their electoral defeat.

Many PRD leaders say their party’s National Executive Committee has to meet to boot Vargas out, voicing their disgust.

“We need to bust his skull,” Maximo Bonilla, a PRD leader of the Eastern zone told news source hoy.com.do bluntly.

The defeat has deflated some of leaders’ enthusiasm, casting over them a shadow of powerlessness to do anything.
