Fernandez gets the Vatican’s blessing to mull Lat Am issues

Vatican City.- Dominican Republic and the Vatican will hold sessions of analysis on the different socio-cultural issues in Latin America and the Caribbean, through an initiative of the Pontifical Council for Culture, with the support if public and private organizations.

President Leonel Fernandez and Vatican Pontifical Council for Culture president Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi announced the agreement after a Thursday morning meeting in which a work schedule was drafted.

The analyses will cover various topics to be discussed by intellectuals, academia leaders and scientists from all of Latin America, with reference to the experience of the Court of the Gentiles, a discussion between believers and nonbelievers.

Ravasi and Fernandez agreed on the need to understand "what happens in this changing, complex and uncertain world," as defined by the Dominican leader.
