Two more deaths because of cholera
Santiago, DR.– Two persons with symptoms similar to cholera died in Santiago, health sources reported as the country is carrying out a campaign against several diseases.
The two patients who died had arrived at the Jose Maria Cabral Hospital with symptoms of severe diarrhea. Julio de los Santos, 66, was from the province of Espaillat, while Oscar Antonio Lora, 64, lived in Santiago.
Since the beginning of the cholera epidemic in Haiti in November 2010, nearly 26,712 Dominicans have been affected by the disease, and 169 deaths have been confirmed, according to statistics from the Health Ministry.
