The start of construction has been delayed due to the wait for this crucial permit. In the meantime, preparations continue with the completion of the site’s perimeter closure.
The hotel will feature 154 rooms across four levels, encompassing approximately 9,000 square meters of construction. Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom), the company managing AILA, stated that the hotel will provide “hospitality services of the highest quality.”
Located just a few meters from the airport terminal, the hotel will be accessible on foot. It will offer amenities including a bar and restaurants, terraces, coworking spaces, a gym, a swimming pool, a business center, flexible meeting rooms, and parking facilities.
Aerodom confirmed that the project is being promoted by TVP Management RD, in collaboration with Constructora Sofisa, S.A., and Constructora ICI Internacional. The design is by the Orbitarq Architecture Workshop and the Estrella & Tupete law firm.
Upon the project’s announcement, it was revealed that the rooms will offer views of both the airport terminal and the Caribbean Sea. The hotel aims to attract business travelers with its facilities for work meetings and training programs.
Additionally, the hotel will cater to transit passengers and crews, potentially encouraging more local and international airlines to establish operations centers in the Dominican Republic.
This hotel along with the addition of new runways, terminal facilities, and other amenities for SDQ will enhance the airport experience for all visitors, foreign and domestic.
