President Abinader issues decrees to reform National Police

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader has issued two significant decrees aimed at reforming the National Police.

Decree 370-24 creates an honorary special commission under the Ministry of the Interior and Police. This commission will collaborate with the General Directorate of the National Police to review Law No. 590-16, the Organic Law of the National Police, and propose necessary adaptations through a draft law.

Decree 371-24 sets the guiding principles, general guidelines, and governance framework for the police reform, modernization, and transformation process. The ultimate goal of this reform is to develop a public police service that is recognized for its high quality and trusted by the public.

It is business as usual the police are being reformed. It is good results that show, is what the pueblo desires.
