Central Bank denounces fake investment platform videos

Santo Domingo.- The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) announced on Thursday that several circulating videos on social media promoting a supposed new investment platform linked to the institution are false. These videos, according to the BCRD, were created using digital technology to mimic the voice of Governor Héctor Valdez Albizu.

The monetary authority stated that the videos aim to create false expectations among the public, generate economic uncertainty, and damage the reputation of the Central Bank.

The bank emphasized that all official information and provisions are available on its website (www.bancentral.gov.do), its official social media accounts, and through authorized media outlets. The BCRD urged the public to report these fraudulent videos to the relevant authorities.
