CEPM reports only 4 Hours of annual power outages for customers
Punta Cana.- The Punta Cana Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM) reports that its customers experience only four hours of interruptions per year, with system losses at approximately 3.9%. This efficiency highlights CEPM’s commitment to delivering high-quality energy services.
CEPM operates from an Intelligence, Monitoring, and Control Center, the most advanced facility of its kind in the Americas and the Caribbean. Here, the company monitors circuit interruptions and customer consumption in real-time.
General Manager Oscar San Martín emphasized that CEPM’s losses are minimal, primarily in administrative areas. He explained that, unlike traditional electricity distributors that relied on methods like fraud detection, CEPM now uses engineering data to identify losses almost immediately, with only a one- or two-day lag.
San Martín also noted that CEPM’s efficiency levels are near 100%, allowing the company to promptly address any breakdowns or interruptions without requiring customers to report them. Additionally, customers can monitor their consumption every 15 minutes through various platforms, enabling them to make informed, smart decisions about their energy use.
He concluded by stating that CEPM believes efficient electricity service is crucial for national development. The quality of service and business sustainability are directly linked to their ability to maintain long-term investments.
I guess 3 of those hours were this morning.
