Agricultural Cabinet commemorates National and International Cocoa Day

San Francisco de Macorís.- The Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, along with representatives from the National Cocoa Commission and the Agricultural Cabinet, celebrated National and International Cocoa and Chocolate Day to honor producers and promote sustainable practices in the chocolate industry. The event highlighted the Dominican Republic’s position as a top global producer of organic cocoa, recognized for its high quality under international standards.

Minister Cruz reaffirmed the government’s commitment to further boosting the cocoa sector’s potential. Several industry representatives were awarded, including former President Hipólito Mejía, for his significant contributions to the cocoa industry during his tenure as Secretary of Agriculture and later as President.
