Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez will attend a United Nations Security Council meeting focused on monitoring the security situation in Haiti. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, in New York City, USA.

At the meeting, Álvarez will highlight the Dominican Republic’s concerns regarding Haiti’s insecurity, which poses a threat to both the Dominican Republic and the region. He will be accompanied by the Dominican Republic’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador José Blanco.

This meeting aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2645, which mandates discussions on the Haitian crisis every three months or upon a member’s request for a special meeting.
