Two trapped after building collapse in La Romana

La Romana.- A two-story building collapsed in the Villa Nazaret sector of La Romana, leaving at least two Haitian nationals trapped under the rubble.

The director of Civil Defense in La Romana confirmed that emergency teams are awaiting reinforcements from San Pedro de Macorís and Santo Domingo to assist in the rescue efforts.

According to local correspondent Ángel Esteban Paulino, authorities successfully rescued one person alive from the debris, who was immediately transported to a medical facility for treatment. Rescue operations are ongoing as teams work to locate and assist the remaining trapped individuals.
