Ukraine commemorates three years of war with cultural event in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- The Ukrainian Embassy in the Caribbean, led by Ambassador Iryna Kostiuk and coordinated by businesswoman Victoria Yakimova, held a commemorative event in Casa de Campo to mark three years of conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The gathering brought together political and diplomatic figures, offering a cultural tribute to the resilience of the Ukrainian people.

The event featured a powerful photographic exhibition documenting the impact of the war, alongside a traditional Ukrainian culinary experience that fostered cultural exchange. Distinguished guests included local officials such as Councilwoman Aileen Decamp, Deputy Carlos De Pérez, and La Romana Governor Ivelisse Mercedes Méndez.

Victoria Yakimova emphasized that the event celebrated both Ukrainian culture and the nation’s strength in the face of adversity, while Ambassador Kostiuk highlighted the need for continued international solidarity. The commemoration reinforced the importance of cooperation and support for Ukraine’s reconstruction and the pursuit of peace.
