Easter beach parties banned by Dominican Navy

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic Navy has officially suspended all beach parties during the Easter holiday. The directive prohibits the use of platforms, tents, sound systems, and disco lights along the country’s coastlines.

To enforce the measure, the Navy will collaborate with the Tourism Police (Politur), the National Environmental Protection Service (Senpa), and the National Police. The order has been sent to port commanders nationwide, including key locations such as Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, Samaná, and La Romana.

This decision follows a recent tragedy at the Jet Set nightclub, where 225 people lost their lives, prompting heightened safety measures during the holiday.
