Light traffic marks Good Friday in Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo.- In the early hours of Good Friday, the streets of Greater Santo Domingo were noticeably quiet, with light traffic allowing for smooth travel across the city. Few pedestrians were seen at major intersections, as many residents had either left for vacation in other provinces or opted to stay home.
A national road safety and prevention operation, led by the Emergency Operations Center (COE), began Thursday afternoon and will run through Sunday at 6:00 p.m. COE Director Juan Manuel Méndez reminded the public that while authorities are committed to ensuring safe travel during the Easter holiday, they are also legally obligated to enforce safety regulations.
