Authorities confirm Guayacanes beaches safe after shark sighting

Guayacanes.- After a recent shark sighting off the coast of Guayacanes, local authorities swiftly convened an emergency meeting with representatives from Civil Defense, CODOPESCA, the Navy, and the local Fishermen and Divers Association. A full inspection of the area’s beaches was carried out to assess the situation and ensure public safety.

The joint investigation determined that the shark had returned to its natural habitat and posed no danger to swimmers, tourists, or fishermen. Officials confirmed the event as an isolated and natural occurrence.

“This was a natural phenomenon with no risk to the public. Our beaches remain safe thanks to ongoing surveillance and coordinated efforts,” stated council member John Hazim.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and environmental protection. They also announced enhanced coastal monitoring and reinforced emergency protocols for future incidents. The public is encouraged to remain calm and continue enjoying local beaches.
