COE issues green alert for nine provinces in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has issued a green alert for the National District and eight provinces in the Dominican Republic due to adverse weather conditions. The alert follows a report from the National Meteorological Office (ONAMET), which indicates that a humid air mass, combined with an unstable trough, is generating increased cloudiness and moderate rain with isolated wind gusts.

The provinces under green alert include:

  • Santo Domingo

  • San Cristóbal

  • Sánchez Ramírez

  • Peravia

  • National District

  • Monte Plata

  • Duarte

  • María Trinidad Sánchez

  • La Altagracia

The COE advises residents to stay informed through official channels and to avoid crossing rivers, streams, and flooded areas in these provinces to prevent accidents and protect lives.
