Floating Bridge to temporarily close for vessel passage

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced that the Floating Bridge over the Ozama River will be closed this Wednesday, July 17, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, to allow for the safe passage of deep-draft vessels.

The scheduled closure will facilitate the departure of the BZA Winbuild 1810, R/M Alpamayo, and RM Svitzer Bison, which require the full opening of the navigable channel for their maneuvers.

The MOPC is urging regular users of the bridge to plan ahead and use alternative routes during this time to avoid delays. The closure is part of the standard maritime coordination protocol, designed to ensure the safety of both marine and land traffic.
