Río San Juan names DJ Khaled an Adopted Son for promoting local tourism

Río San Juan.- The Río San Juan City Council honored international music producer DJ Khaled as an adopted son on Monday, recognizing the positive impact his visit has had on the town’s international image. The gesture acknowledges how Khaled’s stay and social media activity have highlighted the area’s beaches, natural beauty, and warm hospitality.

The resolution was presented on behalf of Mayor Lenin Melo and approved by councilors Dabel Reyes, Francis Mora, Rubén Santos, and Miguel Balbuena. DJ Khaled, currently staying in a luxurious villa in the town, has been sharing his experiences online and expressed his appreciation by declaring, “I am Dominican.”

His posts and public enthusiasm have helped draw global attention to Río San Juan as a tourist destination, further supporting its appeal to international travelers.
