Bullring to boost tourism in El Seibo
El Seibo, DR.- Tourism Minister David Collado visited El Seibo to supervise the progress of the long-awaited construction of the Seibana Bullring, a landmark project set to become a major cultural and tourist attraction in the eastern Dominican province. Relaunched in November 2023 with a government investment of over RD$300 million, the bullring project had been anticipated for more than a century.
Collado highlighted the bullring’s transformation into a modern, secure, and multifunctional space that will seat more than 3,000 people and serve as a hub for cultural, sporting, and community events—including bullfights without animal sacrifice, concerts, and family activities. The facility spans over 20,500 square meters, with 5,700 square meters of constructed areas, including stands, commercial zones, administrative offices, dressing rooms, parking, and a children’s playground.
As the only province in the country preserving a bullfighting tradition, El Seibo sees the bullring as a vital symbol of its cultural identity. For decades, however, the community lacked a proper venue to celebrate this heritage. The new bullring is expected to revitalize local traditions, diversify the regional tourism offering, and stimulate the economy by attracting both local and international visitors.

Perhaps make a small edit that in the EL Seibo tradition – the bulls are not harmed.
