Puerto Plata.- According to the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), Puerto Plata is set to receive 62 cruise ships throughout November. Of these, 39 will dock at the Taino Bay port and 23 at Amber Cove. Tourism Minister David Collado noted that the schedule aligns with the national strategy to strengthen cruise tourism and promote the Dominican Republic as a leading destination in the Caribbean.
Atahualpa Paulino, MITUR’s regional director for the north, emphasized that this influx of cruise ships will significantly stimulate the local economy, benefiting workers, entrepreneurs, and service providers across the province. “November will be one of the busiest months for the country’s tourist ports. These 62 arrivals demonstrate the confidence international cruise lines have in Puerto Plata and Dominican tourism management,” he stated.
With its modern port infrastructure, strong institutional coordination, and expanding range of attractions, Puerto Plata continues to consolidate its position as one of the Caribbean’s most attractive cruise destinations.

This is devastating for the local ecosystems. This government is destroying the little nature we have left. The amount of oil pollution from the ships in these waters is immense.
