Abinader and Molina present “Justice of the Future 2034” plan
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Judiciary concluded the participatory process for the Ten-Year Plan “Justice of the Future 2034”, officially presenting the final document to stakeholders on Wednesday during a ceremony led by President Luis Abinader and Chief Justice Henry Molina at Casa San Pablo.
The event gathered more than 3,000 participants, including members of the Supreme Court, Public Prosecutor’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, legislators, business leaders, and civil society representatives, who contributed to this nationwide exercise in strategic planning and co-creation.
Chief Justice Henry Molina explained that the plan establishes a roadmap for transforming the Dominican justice system over the next decade, focused on accessibility, transparency, reliability, and citizen-centered service. The plan’s official launch is scheduled for November 19, at 8:00 p.m., via the Judicial Branch’s YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook channels. Molina highlighted that the initiative was developed using the scenario planning methodology, previously applied in countries like South Africa and Colombia, and introduced in the Dominican Republic for the first time. He emphasized that “planning with a long-term vision is not a technical exercise, but an ethical, institutional, and strategic act.”
The Justice of the Future 2034 Plan aims to eliminate judicial delays, reduce geographical and economic barriers, and ensure a more inclusive and participatory justice system, particularly benefiting vulnerable groups.
President Luis Abinader praised the plan as a state vision and a national commitment, underscoring its role in strengthening democracy and public trust in the justice system. “This plan is not just a Judiciary initiative; it’s a commitment to a justice system that transforms lives and strengthens citizen confidence,” he stated.
