Meliá strengthens alliances with tourism partners
Santo Domingo.- Meliá Hotels International hosted a special gathering for key players in the Dominican tourism sector—including wholesalers, travel agencies, and tour operators—to strengthen strategic alliances, introduce its new commercial management team, and reaffirm its commitment to closer collaboration with industry partners. The event was held at Casas del XVI, an elegant venue that created an intimate environment for reconnecting with long-standing partners and welcoming new ones.
During the evening, attendees were updated on recent developments in Meliá’s Punta Cana portfolio, particularly the launch of Fun Republic, a new entertainment concept offering diverse activities for all ages within the all-inclusive model. The company also highlighted two major milestones for the destination: the construction of the Gabriel Escarrer Juliá Hospitality School, designed to boost local talent and training, and the opening of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center, reinforcing Punta Cana’s position in sports and wellness tourism.
Meliá officially presented its new commercial management team in the Dominican Republic: Alicia Cano (Sales Director), Juanita Hernández (Head of Leisure Sales), Kevin Santelises (Commercial Manager for the Local Market), and Pamela Fernández (Group Sales Manager for the Local Market). Juan José Amaro, Director of Meliá Caribe Beach, emphasized the strong synergy between commercial and operational teams, noting that this integration ensures high service standards and memorable experiences for guests and partners.
