RealtorDR Launches Initiative to Feed 500 Families Across the North Coast This Christmas
In the spirit of community support and solidarity, RealtorDR has launched a large-scale initiative to feed 500 families across the North Coast of the Dominican Republic during the Christmas season. The effort brings together team members, local schools, community partners, and generous donors to support families quietly struggling during the holidays.
The initiative has already raised $11,323, with RealtorDR matching the full amount, bringing the total to $22,646. They will be ensuring food boxes reach families in need across Sosúa, Cabarete, and Puerto Plata—areas where many households face economic pressure during the holiday period.
“We’ve met families who work hard every day, yet still find it difficult to prepare a complete holiday meal,” said Robert Maceachern – President of RealtorDR. “This campaign is about giving back to the community that has supported us, welcomed us, and grown with us.”
Community-Driven Support Across the Dominican Republic
Families selected for the program were identified with the help of local schools, teachers, and community leaders who understand which homes have been most affected by financial hardship. This collaborative approach ensures that support goes directly to the households who need it the most.
As the Dominican Republic continues to grow in population and international attention, many communities—especially on the North Coast—still face challenges with food security and rising living costs. Local initiatives like this highlight the importance of grassroots efforts in maintaining strong, resilient neighborhoods.

Strengthening Local Connections
Although RealtorDR is known for selling real estate in Cabarete, Sosua and Punta Cana, the company emphasizes that this initiative is not tied to property promotion. Rather, it reflects a long-term commitment to supporting local communities and fostering meaningful social impact in the Dominican Republic.

As donations continue to come in, volunteers and partners across Sosúa, Cabarete, and Puerto Plata prepare the food packages that will be distributed before Christmas. Each package includes essential items such as rice, beans, pasta, oil, and traditional holiday ingredients to help families prepare a complete and dignified meal.
“This isn’t just about food—it’s about hope, dignity, and community,” the organizers shared. “When people come together, even small contributions can create a big impact.”
How to Help
Anyone wishing to support the initiative can donate directly through the campaign link or share it within their networks to help expand the reach of this effort. Transparency is at the heart of the initiative, and updates will be provided as the campaign reaches its distribution phase next month.
