Sports minister slightly hurt in chopper crash, flight tech dies

Santo Domingo.- One person died and others were hurt Sundaywhen the helicopter in which sports minister Jaime David Fernandez wastraveling, crashed en route to Montecristi, to inaugurate the June 14 Games inthat city.

The deceased, a military flight technician, was identifiedonly by his surname Alvarez.

Fernandez was taken to Ramon de Lara hospital in SanIsidro, but observation, and sustained only minor scratches.

The pilot, whose name wasn’t released, and others travelingin the chopper were also under observation.
