Punta Cana — Dominican authorities are investigating the cause of a fire with intermittent explosions that broke out yesterday in a parking lot adjacent to the Moon Palace, a hotel construction project in Grand Punta Cana. The fire was brought under control without any fatalities following the deployment of dozens of emergency units and an extensive containment operation.
While The Palace Company reported that the fire that broke out in a parking area adjacent to the project was promptly and effectively contained,
it emphasized that this was possible thanks to the immediate activation of the company’s security protocol and the coordinated support of emergency agencies.
“We express our sincere gratitude to the Punta Cana Fire Department, local authorities, the institutions involved in emergency response, and our tourism sector partners, who acted with professionalism, speed, and commitment to contain the incident 100%,” he added.
He stated that no injuries or significant structural damage have been reported. “The safety of our staff, contractors, and our facilities is The Palace Company’s top priority. Therefore, comprehensive technical evaluation protocols for the site have been immediately activated, including specialized expert reports that will determine the causes of the event and strengthen our preventive measures.”
The Palace reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, safety, and responsible continuity of the construction work, which will continue to progress as scheduled and under high standards of quality and safety.
The fire caused great uncertainty among residents of that area. Several fires have been reported in that part of the country in recent months.

Just wait until it is on the 14th floor. What an eyesore.
