Dominican Republic to launch Thematic Bond Guide to boost sustainable financing

Santo Domingo.- The Association of Multiple Banks of the Dominican Republic (ABA) and the Latin American Federation of Banks (Felaban) will host the Third Latin American Congress on Sustainable and Inclusive Banking on May 14–15 in Santo Domingo. The event will promote dialogue between the financial sector and the productive economy to support a low-carbon, inclusive development model.
Key highlights include the launch of the Dominican Republic’s Thematic Bond Guide and the Sustainability Innovation and Impact Award, recognizing sustainable projects in Latin America. Topics to be discussed include ESG-aligned regulation, climate finance, fintech, financial inclusion, and the “Banking-Business Roadmap” for MSMEs.
The congress will feature national and international experts and is organized around four pillars: regulation, climate finance, social innovation, and business engagement. ABA, currently chairing Felaban’s Sustainable and Inclusive Banking Committee, reaffirms its leadership in regional sustainable finance.
