American Airlines, customers join to help children with cancer, burns
SANTO DOMINGO. — American Airlines, founding partner of the global alliance oneworld® today announced the winners of the innovative promotion whose proceeds will be donated to the Jesus with the Children Voluntary Service’s cancer unit, in Santiago.
This initiative materialized thanks to American Airlines customers who helped the effort by buying raffle tickets to win airfares and miles of the AAdvantage program.
Dimas Suarez won first prize of two American Airlines fares to any of its United States destinations while George Riley took second, with 35,000 miles in the American Airlines program AAdvantage.
The total proceeds of RD$80,600 will be donated to the charity organization in Santiago founded in 2007 and manages the first children’s burn unit in the country and the Caribbean. The Voluntary Service is also home to children with cancer.
"As a large family we’ve been joined by our customers to collaborate with this laudable effort work which the Jesus with the Children Voluntary Service carries out, since we felt a strong commitment to contribute with these noble causes," said Oliver Bojos, American Airlines director for Dominican Republic.
