Raid with a chopper, on mules, nets “gigantic” pot plants
Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) on Thursday said it seized around 1,300 "gigantic" marijuana plants, weighing around 489 pounds at Loma del Cateye, Peravia province (south).
DNCD president Julio C. Souffront headed the raid by helicopter that landed near the area of the plantation, found by agents after 2 hours on mules and then on foot.
The DNCD said it found the marijuana plants, some as high as 12 feet, in a rugged region north of the city of Bani.
