Construction of Binational Market linking Pedernales and Anse-à-Pitre
Pedernales, DR.- The Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Igor David Rodríguez Durán, has allocated over 34 million pesos in Pedernales for various construction projects. Notably, this includes the creation of the new Binational Market connecting Pedernales and the Haitian commune of Anse-à-Pitre, with a budget of 24 million pesos.
Under President Luis Abinader’s administration, Pedernales continues to reap benefits. Minister Rodríguez Durán distributed wood, zinc, and household appliances, emphasizing that these provisions stem from the president’s directive to assist families with limited resources, irrespective of political affiliations.
In addition, the local blacksmiths in Pedernales received 6 million pesos to acquire tools for their trade, expressing satisfaction with the support.
Governor Altagracia Brea De González, visibly moved, expressed gratitude to the minister for his effective management.
Meanwhile, vendors at the Beijing market in Santiago’s southern area are urging Mayor Abel Martínez to reinstate the delivery of their modules. They claim that these modules are currently in other hands and provided contracts from the tenure of former mayor Gilberto Serulle as evidence. The vendors are calling for an audit and a restart of the module distribution process.
The other motive behind this accommodating allocation is tourism. Tourists from cruise ships and the resorts who will want to mix with the locals, get a taste of Haiti, and spend their money to fill bags of collectables.
Pedernales is going to change big time.
Haitian gangs must fight against this. DR needs to finish the wall and stop with these so called bi-national markets. There is nothing in it for Haitians.
