American accused of killing three women in Honduras was in Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo – Police agents, assigned to OCN-Interpol Santo Domingo, in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), captured a man who was a fugitive from justice in Honduras, where he is accused of the death of three women, whose bodies were found inside a vehicle last January 9 on the island of Roatan, in that Central American nation.
He is a U.S. citizen Gilbert Reyes Bermudez, 36 years old, whose arrest took place at the International Airport of Las Americas Dr. Jose Francisco Pena Gomez, from where he was trying to flee the country to the city of Miami, United States, after a stay in the country.
Reyes Bermudez had arrived in Dominican territory on March 16, for which reason the Dominican NCB-INTERPOL immediately began negotiations with its Honduran counterpart to locate and capture him.
Follow up
For several days, the Dominican and Honduran police authorities have been in contact and exchanging information which resulted in the apprehension of the alleged murderer of the young María Antonia Cruz, Dionie Beatriz Solorzano Dixon and Nikendra McCoy Francisco, whose bodies were found inside a vehicle.
Red Alert
Reyes Bermudez was wanted under a Red Notice for International Search and Seizure, No. A-529/1-2024, for the crime of “aggravated femicide and murder”.
At the time of his arrest, the sums of US$205 and 600 pesos in cash, his U.S. passport, two cell phones, personal documents, a set of keys, a wallet and a pair of glasses were seized.
