Santiago – The Vice President of the Dominican Republic and candidate for the same position, Raquel Peña, assured that the ties that unite her with tobacco growers and President Luis Abinader’s commitment to continue supporting the expansion and modernization of the sector will continue to drive the prosperity and recognition of this sector worldwide.

During her speech at an event of “La Gran Alianza Nacional del sector Tabaquero y Exportador L-24 GANASTE” in Santiago, Peña revealed that “my father taught me to respect and love the nobility, resilience, as well as the high productivity of this industry, so when I see that it is the best value in the international market, I appreciate more the hard work and dedication of the people who make it possible. All Dominicans are proud of the sector.

She also said that “in the management of change, we know that this is a key industry for our economy, that is why our president has trusted in the creation of work tables where we continue to give special follow-up to the initiatives that we promote for the modernization of the sector, to which we will also continue to provide more financial and technical support to increase production and exports.”

“I have a commitment with you, I am part of this sector and President Luis Abinader has also expressed to me that in the administration we lead we will work tirelessly to ensure prosperity and recognition worldwide of this star product that his hands work,” he said.
